I have to say that this final project has motivated me to try something new with my selfies. I was glad to pick the reflected selfie because of the services, whether curved, vibrant, or multiple reflections of me in one picture. I used my mother's vehicle as a reflection, and I loved how the red tone reflected on the selfie, including the trees in the background. My favorite portrait would have to be me holding the crystal ball and catching my reflection upside down. The multiple reflections were a unique idea because they made me think of the hall of mirrors at the Carnival. I took the other photo at the bookstore, and they have Plexiglas, where you can see my reflection. I used a pizza cutter as a reflection, and I liked how the selfie turned out with the shape of the pizza cutter. Overall this was a fun and unique selfie experience. There are many ways to make a great selfie.
Larissa, I really like your images for this project. I can tell that you were really using the objects around you without manipulating the subject matter. I think that zooming in or cropping some of your images could make them more effective, but your subject matter is there! It just took a moment to find it ;). I think your alternating images are great, and the space that you chose inside of a store is very unique with a lot of fun opportunities for this assignment! I think that your images “undulating 1 & 2” would have been good images for progression as well! Thanks for sharing.

ReplyDeleteI find all your progressive and undulating rhythm photos really interesting, but the alternating ones don't feel cohesive with the rest. I think the tier of candles in progression_02 is really interesting and creates great rhythm, and would argue that your best alternating rhythm photo is actually undulation_05 (I love this photo). I also think the bands of material/texture in undulation_03 is super effective! Good job, it just seems like you had to rush the alternating ones at the end and weren't as intentional with the composition.
